Ottawa Irish Seeking Coaches

The Ottawa Irish Rugby Club in its 51st year is seeking to expand their senior and junior coaching staff f0r the 2014 season.  The Ottawa Irish run 3 senior men’s teams, 2 senior women’s teams, 3 junior men’s team, a junior women’s team and a mini program.

The men’s program was recently promoted back into the FRQ/EORU SuperLeague and are looking to ensure we never loose own spot again.  The Irish women had a small stumble last year and will be competing in the FRQ/EORU Division 1, with a single goal of returning to the women’s SuperLeague for the 2015 season.  We currently have positions available on both senior coaching staffs.  Training for both teams are held at Colonel By High School on Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30 pm till 8pm.

Ottawa Irish Men’s Team

The men’s program runs 2 teams in the SuperLeague and one team in  EORU Men’s Division 1.  With over 100 registered men we are in need of some assistant coaches to assist our men’s head coach, Marco Piacentini.  Full-time commitment would always be welcome, with a solid coaching staff in place full-time commitment is not necessary.

Ottawa Irish Women’s Program

The women’s team is searching for the right people to take the program back to the SuperLeague. The women’s program has a great core of talented women. The challenge for the 2014 season will be utilizing the existing core players and integrating the talented junior core graduating to the senior level.  We need two dedicated coaches who want to build a winning attitude.

Ottawa Irish Junior Girl’s Program

The Ottawa Irish junior girls program is fed by multiple high school programs in the Ottawa area. It is our job is to help them develop their skills and reach their full potential.  Our program continues to place many junior girls on provincial and national squads.  We are in need of coaches to run the junior women’s program.  The right coaches will not only be able to coach these young athletes but mentor them as well.

We are looking to full two part time men’s positions, two senior women’s position and at least one junior girl’s coaching position. If you have any questions please ask.

If you are interested in applying for any of these positions please send your resume and clearly state which program you are interested in by March 23.
