Rugby Sevens and the 2021 Canada Summer Games

Rugby sevens is set to join the list of sports played in the Canada Summer Games. The planning for the 2021 games is currently underway, with four communities remaining in the bidding process. Ottawa is one of those final four cities.

The host committee will be hosting a community launch to kick off their bid and wants to get everybody out to join them on Thursday at Ottawa City Hall from noon to 1pm.

The City of Ottawa is one of the 4 contenders vying to host the 2021 Canada Summer Games. The Canada Games are the largest multi-sport event in the country for young athletes, and a premium nation-building event that enriches Canadian culture and creates lasting legacies. This two-week event takes place every two years, alternating summer and winter.

We are hosting a community launch to kick off support for the Ottawa 2021 Canada Games bid. Please join us at Ottawa City Hall on Thursday, January 12. The event will take place from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., and will be held at the Sens Rink of Dreams, along with entertainment, skating free Beavertails, hot drinks and soup!
