Welcome to Women’s Rugby in Eastern Ontario!
Rugby is a sport that tests both mental and physical abilities. It teaches teamwork, perseverance, strength and toughness both mental and physical. Rugby is one of the only full contact sports available for women and the camaraderie that fosters between teammates and opponents is unique.
There is no ideal rugby player. In rugby there is a place on the field for people of all shapes, sizes and abilities. Whether you are the fresh new face or the grizzled veteran, long and lanky or short and stocky there is a place for you in this sport.
The Eastern Ontario Rugby Union is the organizing body for rugby from Kingston in the south to Pembroke in the North and Lanark in the west to Cornwall in the east. It’s main roles are:
- Organizing leagues in which club teams to play
- Organizing representative sides to play elite level games
- Developing and promoting the sport of rugby within the region
Within the region there is rugby for all ages, experience and skill levels. The club, high school, university and representative systems offer a wide range of programs that cater to every player. Below is a brief description of the representative system in Eastern Ontario and how to get involved. Please visit the club, high school, or university pages for more information about these systems.
