Voyageurs Win Inaugural Game

The Lower Canada Voyageurs won the first game of their short history, 31-25, in Rugby Canada’s CRC U19 tournament, which kicked off today at Ste-Julie.

In a game that was forced to finish 15 minutes early due to lightening, Shaquille Lattimore worked hard to earn the honour of scoring the Voyaguer’s first ever try, with some great lead-up work from inside centre, Nik Chyzenski. Jon Nadler then went on a scoring spree to earn himself a hat trick of tries – another Voyageur first – with some excellent physical play in the tight. Lattimore scored a second, with an extremely well worked first phase backline move, and Thomas Hindle kicked very well to close out the score sheet.

The tournament continues at Ste-Julie, home of the Montreal Irish, Thursday, August 11 with Atlantic vs. Wolf Pack @ 1pm and Lower Canada Voyageurs vs. Ontario @ 3pm. Directions to the field can be found here.
