Eastern Ontario Rugby sponsors flag rugby program at the elementary level in both the Catholic and Public School boards through the supply of equipment and education for teachers. Flag rugby is great game for school age children. It is fun, fast paced and a great way to add some variety to gym class. It is played with a slightly smaller ball and the contact aspect of the game is replaced with flags belted around the waist that the offence must pull off to stop the player with the ball. For more information about the flag rugby program please contact Melissa Duff at melissaduff_83@hotmail.com.
Many local clubs also provide rugby programs for U14 and below. Below is a list of programs by club with contacts.

Hello
My son is 9 and is interested in learning to play rugby. Do you have any summer camps?
Natalie
Hi Natalie,
You may wish to contact one of the clubs in your neighbourhood http://eorugby.com/clubs/. Some of them run flag rugby programs for youth and minors. I know the Ottawa Indians have a pretty large flag rugby program. I will also forward your request to our Director of Youth Rugby as she may have more information on existing programs.
Johnny
Hey Natalie,
A youth camp has just been confirmed for the week of August 20-24. It is being run through the Dovercourt Recreation Center for children age 8-10. In the camp he will learn the basics of the game such as passing, basic rules and positional play on both offence and defense. We also provide an introduction to tackling, focusing on saftey and proper form. It is a great starting point for younger players to learn the game at a slow pace with emphasis on participation and having fun. If you have any further questions don’t hesitate to contact Dovercourt or myslef at 9sl71@queensu.ca.

Hello, Im interested in Rugby and i cant find anywhere else to look. i was wondering what the cost would be and i also would like to know how old do you have to be in junior because im turning 12 in October.
Lajaya: You may wish to contact a club that is in your area that offers a minor rugby program. Check out eorugby.com/clubs. I believe the Blues and the Scottish have a U14 program.
Why is Chelsea RFC not included? I understand they are not in Eastern Ontario, but they only play the Eastern teams
Jon: Thank you for the feedback. We will explore adding the information for Chelsea to the site.
