Fast and Female have partnered with the Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group (OSEG) Foundation and four sports organizations, including Rugby Ontario, to offer an event next Tuesday October 10th called Sports Day the Girls Way. Over 700 girls ages 8-14 in Ottawa will be attending the event at TD Place featuring empowering female role models and speakers and an opportunity for them to try 4 different sports (rugby, boxing, football, and lacrosse).


About Fast and Female:

Fast and Female is a Canadian charity on a mission to keep self-identified girls aged 8-14 healthy and active in sports. Founded in 2005 by Olympic gold medalist Chandra Crawford, Fast and Female believes in the power of positive sport experiences and role models to give girls leadership, teamwork and resiliency skills.

Event Information:

What: Sports Day the Girls Way (SDTGW), presented by OSEG Foundation, is a day-long event for over 700 girls from across the Ottawa area who will gather at TD Place for a day of sports, empowerment, connection, and FUN! This event features a Keynote speaker, an inspiring panel, fun physical activity stations from four sports organizations, REAL (Relatable, Empowering, Active Leaders) Role Models (RRM), and more!

Where: TD Place

When: Tuesday, October 10th, 2023, from 8:00am to 3:00pm.

Who: We are looking for volunteers to support sport leaders at the rugby station as we deliver rugby activity sessions to large groups of 8-14 year old girls throughout the day and act as ambassadors for our sport.
