Calling all interested athletes and coaches!
Another 7’s season is coming up with EORU. We are looking for players (2009 to 2006) that are interested in playing rep rugby for Eastern Ontario Rugby Union. We have a number of upcoming tournaments throughout the year geared towards U15, U17 and U18 athletes.
To all female and male athletes, we will have 2 evaluation sessions this fall on September 3rd in Kingston at LaSalle High School from 10am-12pm. The second session will be held at Twin Elm Rugby Park on September 9th in Ottawa from 2-4pm. Athletes are encouraged to come to at least one session and arrive 1 hour before for registration. The cost of the session(s) is $50. Details on how to pay are in the registration link.

Athletes are also REQUIRED to be registered with a local club in order to participate in any EORU sessions. Athletes will be evaluated on emotional maturity, ability to work with other players, rugby skills and rugby IQ.
Once athletes have been evaluated and selected, invites will go to the successful players and their families. Throughout the year, we will have several tournaments where we will select teams. The following are what is in the works right now:
- Bellwether 7’s (Brandford) on October 14th – U15/17 B/G
- Whitby Competiton on October 28/29- TBD (B/G will each have a competition day)
- NY 7’s (American Thanksgiving weekend) – U18B/G
- Tropical 7’s in Tampa (Easter Weekend) – U16/18
Training times are still to be determined and subject to change. We are working diligently to try to make it work as best we can. Selected athletes will be invited to train at a cost of $175 on the dates below. Please note that this DOES NOT include the cost of any tours. Touring costs are to be paid separately.
- October 21st – Belleville/Kingston
- November 4th – Ottawa (TERP)
- November 18th – Ottawa at Sooner’s Dome 2-4pm
Selections for Tropical 7’s will take place December 9th at Sooners Dome in Ottawa from 2-4pm. We are working to finalize the winter training sessions. Information will be available shortly.
